GAIL PEAK BROWN
I was not looking to run for public office. However, the data center on Rifle Range Road sits adjacent to my property. I was concerned and so were my neighbors. Asking lots of questions and getting no answers I was jolted awake. While attending public town halls, asking a ton of questions, and going to the commission meetings I realized our county desperately needed leadership that was not afraid to stand up for the people.
The proposed data center project has sparked significant community concern. As a resident and hopeful future Presiding Commissioner, I am committed to protecting the people and our resources for future ourselves now and future generations. I want to ensure that large-scale industrial developments do not compromise the quality of life for Webster County families. We must prioritize transparency and our community over corporate interests.
The data centers are just one facet of the issues our county faces. Budget concerns with fair bidding processes with open requests for proposals, the conditions of our roads, the need for an audit of all county offices including the health department, legal advice that represents the best interests of the county, and transparency that brings in live-streamed commission meetings, posting agendas and minutes online for easy access of the county tax payers and an open door policy are my priorities as the Webster County Presiding Commissioner.
MY PLATFORM
NO DATA CENTERS
I am against Data Centers and I support County Ordinances, not Planning and Zoning in our county
TRANSPARENCY
Everyone deserves to have a seat at the table. We need agendas, archived meetings, and online commission meetings for complete transparency
AUDIT THE BUDGET
We need a complete audit of the county budget and The Webster County Health Department. We need to establish a foundation of trust amongst the county.
